Living on the Edge

Dear AJ,

I just went on a school trip to the tundra.It was so cold and freezing.I think the temperature was -28 degrees.It was really dry because it hardly ever rains just like a desert.It was so strange to see no trees at all.I'm glad we went in summer because winter is so much colder and lasts for 8 months.Sometimes the sun doesn't even rise for weeks.I am so glad to be at home now.I really enjoyed visiting the tundra.

Towering Timbers

I think logging shouldn't be allowed in NZ because it wrecks animals homes and kills the trees.It's not good for mother nature and it doesn't look nice.

I would make my hotel out of flowers because they are beautiful,colourful,fresh and they give the hotel a good smell.
I would build my hotel somewhere that is warm and rains sometimes because this weather will keep the flowers nice and fresh.

French Toast

Ingredients:
2 eggs
2-6 Tbsp milk
6-8 slices of bread
Golden syrup

Method:
1.Cut the bread in half you can cut the crust off if you want.
2.Beat the eggs and milk in a small bowl with a fork.
3.Heat a frypan on medium heat with a little oil or butter.
4.Using a fork dip the bread into the egg and milk mix and put into
    the frypan.
5.Fry the slices of bread turning when golden brown.
6.Serve with a drizzle of golden syrup.

First I needed to find out how many days are there in one year.I found out that there are 365 days in one year.Then I had to multiply the days by 3 because the cactus needs 3 mls of water a day.So the answer is 365x3=1095 mls of water for the whole year.

A character description

My little sister’s name is Amorangi. She is 4 years old and has black
and light brown hair like mine but her hair is shorter. She is kind,
funny,annoying and a little bit grumpy. She likes doing swimming.

Sometimes she likes doing running races but I always let her win.

At the park.

Yesterday morning my whole family went to Jellicoe park and pools
in Onehunga.We met up with my dad’s sisters family and my dad’s
brother family.There were 14 kids altogether.First we played at the
park.This was a special trip because my dad’s brother Uncle Sione is
visiting from America.He is from a place called Billings in Montana.
After we played at the park we went for a swim in the indoor pools.After we had a swim
we went and played on the park for a little bit again.Then we went to
our grandparants house to eat.We had pizza and hot chips.The part I
enjoyed the most was playing with my cousins.

Max's birthday party.

On Sunday 15th of July I went with my mum and my little sister to my
friend Adam’s little brother’s birthday party.It was at the Indoor
Netball courts in St Johns.Max was turning 7.On the courts we were
playing Dodgeball and Line tag.Lorenzo and Vicenzo were also at
the party.After the games we went back upstairs to have some food.
We had lots of delicious food like chips,sausage rolls,fruit kebabs,
brownies,hot chips,sushi,pizza and pretzels.After we did the cake then
we did the pinata.The last thing we did was play Duck Duck Goose.
I really enjoyed the party.  

Matariki Kapa Haka Performance.

                                                                                 

On Saturday 14th of July I went with my mum,Aunty Ella and my little
sister to watch a performance.There were two Kapa Haka groups and
Maisey Rika who performed.It celebrated Matariki but mostly women
.It was at ASB Waterfront Theatre.I really enjoy the performance but I
fell asleep during some of the performance because the singing was
beautiful.

Being money smart.

Jaydon from the ASB bank came to our classroom.I learnt about visible money.
Visible money means the coins and notes. After that we learnt about eftpos and credit
cards.

Eftpos money belongs to me.Money on the credit cards belong to the bank.If you use
a lot of the credit card bank’s money and don’t pay the money back on time the bank
will charge you interest.

When you do chores you get money from your parents.You can spend some on yourself a
nd save some too.When I go shopping I’m going to do this STWLFGD.It stands for Stop
The Wheels Look For Good Deals.

Summary book Jungle drums.

This story is about a tiny warthog named Ngiri who gets bullied from
the other warthogs and  jungle animals.She feels sad so she goes to
the wildebeest.The wildebeest gives her a magic bongo drum and
three wishes.She uses her two wishes and they were a disaster because
the colours were on the wrong animals.Ngiri use her last wish to
change everything back to normal.The other animals do not bully
Ngiri again because they learnt a lesson.
