Letter to Jacinda Ardern
Dear Jacinda Ardern,
I think that we shouldn't have landfills because we have a big rubbish problem in New Zealand. By taking the landfills away this will force people to think of better ways to reuse, reduce and recycle. This will help our environment and keep New Zealand clean and beautiful.
Everyone including the government should be finding better solutions than a landfill to solve our rubbish problem.
I worry about the landfills getting bigger each day which makes me feel like we are wasting our beautiful land just for rubbish.
I believe that if we protect the land we also protect ourselves. At the moment we are not doing a great job at this. I hope you can help me and Aotearoa.
Thank you,
Te Raumati Siaki-Tatafu

Book review
LI:To write a book review about my favourite book
For this activity I had to write a book review about my favourite book. I wrote a short summary about the book and why I liked it. To fill in the gaps at the bottom I rate the book out of 5 stars and used one word to describe how I felt about the book.
Champion shot putter
I decided to replace Kate Sheppard on the 10 dollar note with Valerie Adams because she is a strong woman and a great sports woman. She has represented NZ at the Olympic games, World Championships and also the Commonwealth games. She has come first many times in these competitions and I think that this is spectacular. I also think that Valerie Adams is a great role model not only to girls and women in New Zealand but also to Tongan and other Polynesians around the world.
Rosa Parks dream
The problem during that time was that there were different laws for the black people and the white people of the USA. This is called segregation. Rosa Parks was sick of the law and one day while she was on the bus she refused to move from her seat for a white person. On the buses blacks had to sit at the back and whites only at the front. She ended up being arrested which made a lot of people very mad. They decided to protest by not using the buses for a couple of months because of that the city had to do something about it. The laws ended up being changed by the Supreme Court because they said it wasn't legal to treat the blacks that way.

A long walk to freedom
I am so sick of doing the same thing each day. I am feeling so exhausted, I don't like this but I have no choice. I miss my family and my home. I hate this tiny damp cell. All I have to sleep on is a uncomfortable straw mat that doesn't help my body at all. After a long day doing such hard work in the hot sun my body fells so sore. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of freedom and seeing my family again. Until then I wait to see my loved ones and look forward to receiving letters from them.

Kiwi Can
Today was the last session for kiwi can. Since it's the last session we played four different games. Before we played the games we had to use the four them's this year. Those are integrity, resilience, positive relationship and respect. Here are two games we played today.
First game
The first game was hop potato but it had a twist. While we are passing the ball around we have to say,"Hop potato fast, hop potato slow, hop potato, hop potato, out you go!" If you are holding the ball and we finished saying that sentence you are out. If you do a bad past you are out and if you drop it and we are still saying the sentence you carry on.
Second game
The second game we played was musical cones. To play musical cones you have to canes in a line and you need to have the same amount of people of the side of the cones. Next you have to play some music and you have to dance and if you don't your out. Once the music stops you have to try and grab a cone, if you do you have to sit down with the cone on your head but if you don't your out. When you are dancing your not allowed to touch the cone if you do your out. Each round Mr Seamanu will take some cones away and the last person standing wins.

Inter school|Athletics day.
Yesterday myself and some kids from my school went into inter school for athletics day. It was going to be held at Pakuranga. I was going to do the 400 and 75 metre sprints.
The first one I did was the 400 metre sprint. When you do the 400 metre sprint you have to run one whole lap. When I finished I had to wait for about 2 hours to do my 75 metre sprint because the boys are going to be doing the running events first and the girls will be doing the field events. Then at 12:00 we swap so the boys will do the field events and the girls do the running events.
When 2 hours passed most of the girls including me had to go down near the running track. The way it goes is that it will start with little kids and then end with the older kids so the year level would be year 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. The race I did first was the heats so that means who ever comes 1st, 2nd or 3rd might go to the final. When I finished my race a lady gave me a card that said 3rd. That meant I came 3rd but I realized that the first 2 goes to the final. I didn't really mind but at least I came 3rd for the heats. It was fun competing but the challenging thing was competing against kids that were really fast.

Kiwi Can|Respect|Passions
LI:To learn about passions
This week we have a new topic for this week and that is passions, also our them is respect. Passions means being able to control your self and not complaining while your waiting. Since we are talking about passions our energiser and activity will be about passions.
Energiser
This week our energiser was called snap and escape. To play this game we had to find an partner and once we found our partner we had to sit down facing your partner and wait until everyone found a partner. When everyone found a partner we had to put our right hand flat in the middle and put your two fingers on your left on top of your partners hand. Then Mr Seamanu will tell us a word and when we hear it say it we have to grab your partners fingers before they escape and while you try and when you try and grab their fingers you have to escape before they grab your fingers. We had 5 rounds against your partner and then we had to play against the class.
Activity
Today our game for our activity was called pass it on. It was separated by boys and girls. The kiwi can leader had to squeeze one of us in the very back and we had to pass the squeeze all the way to the front and the front people and to try and get the cone it the chair, and the first team that gets the cone gets one point.

This week I have completed a task for reading. I had to describe a main character from my book using 10 words. I decided to describe Mr twit because already had some words to describe him. Next I had to find 10 words in my book that I didn't know the meaning. Once we wrote down the 10 words the last thing I had to do was pick 5 words and find the meaning of that word.
Setting description
LI:To investigate figurative language
LI:To identify parts of a narrative
This week I have completed my task for writing, my task was called setting description. We had to use the 5 senses to make a setting description. We had to find an image or get one from the class site. Once we find an image we had to put it on a google drawing. Next we had to write a telling and a show description of the picture we choose. The difference between the telling and showing sentence in that when you write your telling sentence your just telling them what you see but when you are writing your show sentence your describing the things you see.

Tennis
LI:To learn how to serve propyl
This week for tennis we are going to be learning how to serve propyl when you play a game of tennis but before he taught us we did a couple of rounds tennis. The hard thing was hitting the ball because we were in the hall and there is not that much space in there.
After some rounds we had to try and throwing the ball diagonally to your partners cones, if you touch there cones you get a point and if you don't you just have to try harder. This is what we are going to do but your just going to be using the tennis racket.
Once all of us had a turn we had to try and doing the same thing with the racket. When you use the racket you throw the ball up and then you use the racket to hit it diagonally to your partner. We had trouble hitting it because some of us are hitting to high or hitting the ball somewhere else but we still tried.
