Tech Relflection

LI: To learn about food technology

For the third week of tech we were learning about food technology. Our teacher (Mrs Hecka) taught us how to make curry. First, we put aprons on and then washed our hands before we got our tray of utensils. Next, we got into a group from last week, then decided which job each person is going to do. After that, we grabbed our ingredient and utencils. The ingredients we used was spinich, spices, oil, ginger, garlic, onions, and more. Then, we started putting some of the ingredients stright in the pot and some of the ingredients we needed to dice up before putting them in the pot. We started stiring everything in the pot together on the stove. Lastly, we cleaned cleaned up the kitchen by wiping down the benches, washing the dishes.

I enjoyed my third session of tech because I got the chance to learn how to cook new things and getting to taste delicious new foods.

Tidy Drive

LI: To learn how to keep your drive clean

For this cybersmart task, we created a Slide helping John clean his drive. We created this working with my group Joshua and Liletina. We worked together by sharing our ideas and understanding what to do , why is it important , why is it good and why is it bad. I liked working with my buddies because we shared our ideas. We also worked collaboratively.  This cybersmart helped us understand why it is food to put the correct things in the right folder.

AFL

 LI:To learn how to catch

For PB4L , the year 7 students did AFL. For AFL we learned about kicking , throwing and catching. We started off recaping the skills we learnt from last time which was kicking. Then we started to practise our throwing. Then we found three partners so we can our catching. The two types of catching techniques we learnt was the scoop and the W catch. For the scoop technique is to put out your hands and scoop the ball when it lands on your arms. For the W catching technique once the ball lands on your hands you push your arms together with the ball in the middle. Lastly we played a game of bull rush. I found this lesson very interesting because I now have learnt three skills from AFL.

Cultural Contribute

For this task we had to make a photo collage of cultural languages. These ten photos repersent all the different contribution of cultures. These cultures contribute to NZ which makes this country more diverse because the country is divided up into diferent cultures that people in NZ are which makes the country more diverse.

I found it quite hard to find images to relate to cultures because most images show something else. I really enjoyed making the DLO with Diana because I get to learn new stuff and get to collabrate with my friend.

We then used the notes to write down twenty words linked to topic. After that we chose the six most important words from the twenty words. Lastly we made a summary about the America's Cup using the six important words we chose. I found this task interesting because I learnt a lot about the America's Cup.

PB4L | How to behave on a bus?

Today we have done an activity about how to behave on a bus for our PB4L task . First, we thought of positive ways in our group of mixed and non mixed people and thought of things we might thought we could show how we would behave on the bus. We weren’t allowed to use no, don’t, never, and more because that’s not positive. After we wrote down how to behave on a bus we showed it by taking a video on how to behave and not behave on a bus. Something we found interesting about doing the DLO.

PB4L

Today we have done an activity on asking to go to the bathroom, drink, or office. First we thought of different ways why it’s important to let the teacher know they need to leave the room, who is affected if they do not follow the system, and how would you feel if something went wrong. After thinking of three different examples we started to write down the answer that we thought was the best. Something I found interesting during this activity was sharing what we thought was a good cybersmart to show younger children.

Opstical Illusion

LI: To create an optical illusion

After using our smart searching skills to find out what opstical illusion are we were challenged to create our own opstical illusions.

I found it quite hard to make the squares small because I want to make it exactly like the image I saw on the internet.

I enjoyed making the opstical illusion because I got to learn what an opstical illusion is and how to make one
