Today I have completed my final activity for the Summer Learning Journey. I have created a reflection on questions I have answered about the SLJ's task.
I will like to thank all the commenters who have helped me and motivated me to keep carrying on with the Summer Learning Journey. I will also like to thank the SLJ team for setting up these fun activities because they have really helped me keep my learning up during the summer holiday. I really enjoyed attempting this years Summer Learning Journey tasks.

Today I have completed week 6, task 48 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the kick start activity. I needed to create a painted art.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I thought of a design I could make on my digital rock.
Lastly, I drew my design on my rock. I decided to go with a galaxy theme.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me an oppertunity to show my creativity.
Today I have completed week 6, task 47 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the kick start activity. I needed to create a backyard obstacle course.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I set up a obstacle course in my backyard using chairs, clothes line, and weights.
Lastly, I took a photo of my course and I wrote down how to complete it.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me an idea of what to do during the summer holidays.
Today I have completed week 6, task 45 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the kick start activity. I needed to create a challenge for somone in my family
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I set up a challenge for my sister to complete. This was a physical, puzzel, and teamwork aspect challenge.
Lastly, I took a video of my sister attempting my opsitcal cource.
I really enjoyed doing this task but I found thinking of challenges really difficult. My sister really enjoyed doing the challenges, also my favourite part of the challenge was the riddles.
Today I have completed week 6, task 44 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the step it up activity. I needed to create a scavenger hunt.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started writing about 20 clues and hid them all around the house. I also put a bounus prize for my sister.
Lastly, I took a video of my sister attempting my scavenger hunt.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn what a scavenger hunt is.
Today I have completed week 6, task 42 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the kick start activity. I needed to create a snowball poem.
A snowball poem is were each line is longer than the previous one.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started writing my poem. It's about what I do during the summer holidays.
Lastly, I took a screencastify of me reading my poem.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn how to write a snowball poem.
Today I have completed week 6, task 41 for the Summer Learning Journey. I needed to create my own game.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started making my equipment I need for my game. My idea was to make a DIY basketball game.
Lastly, I took a photo of my materials and I wrote down how to play the games.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to show my creativity by creating a new game.
Today I have completed week 6, task 40 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the step it up task. I needed to create a summer text graphic.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started drawing my picture. I decided to draw a sunset for my background.
Lastly, I started looking for quotes that relate to sunsets. The quote I decided to use was "Sunsets are proof that endings can often be beautiful too."
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn how to create a summer text graphic.
Today I have completed week 5, task 39 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the kick start task. I needed to create a silly algebra equations.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started looking for images I can use for my algebra equations. I decided to use a water bottle and an umbrella.
Lastly, I started rearranging the math operations and images so I can make it into algebra equations.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to refresh my knowledge of algebra.

Today I have completed week 5, task 38 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the step it up task. I needed to create a kowhaiwhai pattern.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started drawing my koru's. I drew 2 different koru's.
Then, I coloured in the koru's. I decided to use light green and pounamu green.
Lastly, I rearrange all the koru's to make it look more interesting.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn about kowhaiwhai patterns.
Today I have completed week 5, task 36 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the kick start task. I needed to create ice art.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I looked for things in my own environment. I decided to use a flower.
Then, I put it in the ice tray and added so water. I let it set in the freezer for a whole day.
Lastly, I took a photo of it and labeled each part of the ice art.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn about a Russian artist.
Today I have completed week 5, task 35 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the step it up task. I needed to create a dish with cicadas in it.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started looking for some images to put on my template. Once I found some images, I used background remover to help make the images look more realistic.
Lastly, I added some extra detail by using the scribble line to make it look like drizzled sauce.
I really enjoyed doing this task because I was to learn that some people eat cicadas.
Today I have completed week 5, task 34 for the Summer Learning Journey. I needed to make a musical instrument.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started thinking of a instrument I can make. I decided to use cups full of water. This instrument would be simalar to a xylophone.
Lastly, I took a video of me playing my instrument (the cups full of water).
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the oppertunity to learn how to make a instrument out of house hold stuff.
Today I have completed week 4, task 33 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the step it up activity. I needed to make a geometric animal art.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started thinking of a animal that I can draw. I decided to do a dolphin because it's my favourite animal.
Lastly, I started drawing my geometric animal using the polyline tool
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the oppertunity to learn what geometric animal art is and how to make my own.
Today I have completed week 4, task 31 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the step it up activity. I needed to make a summer collage
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started thinking of things I do during the summer holidays.
Lastly, I found images that relate to what I do during the holidays.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the oppertunity to share things I do during the holidays.
Today I have completed week 4, task 29 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the kick start activity. I needed to make my own weather journal.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started obserbing the weather through out the day.
Lastly, I recoreded the weather information in my weather journal.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the oppertunity to learn how people used the weather in the past.
Today I have completed week 4, task 28 for the Summer Learning Journey. I needed to make a point perspective artwork.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started making artwork. I first did one with buildings on the side, but then I changed it to a beach to make look like a summer artwork.
Lastly, I took a photo of both artwork since I worked hard on both.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn about point perspective art.
Today I have completed week 4, task 27 for the Summer Learning Journey. I needed to learn to make a optical illusion.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started drawing a optical illusion.
Lastly, I took a photo of my optical illusion.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn different types of optical illusions.
Today I have completed week 3, task 26 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the kick start activity. I needed to learn to make a DIY boat.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I needed to find things around the house that will help me make a boat.
Then, I started making my boat once I found all my materials.
Lastly, I took a photo of my boat floating on top of water.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn how to use things around the house to make something fun.
Today I have completed week 3, task 25 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the step it up activity. I needed to learn to how to use background remover.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I needed to find a New Year background and a New Year logo to use for my DLO.
Then, I took a photo of me to put on my DLO, but before putting it on my DLO I need to use background remover.
Lastly, I moved all 3 photos around to make my DLO look more organized.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn how to use background remover.
Today I have completed week 3, task 22 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the step it up activity. I needed to create a one point perspective art work.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started drawing my one point perspective artwork. I also coloured it in. I decided to colour it in dark from the bottom, and then start going light as I go to the top.
Lastly, I took a photo of my finished artwork.
I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn what a one point perspective artwork is and how to draw one.
Today I have completed week 3, task 21 for the Summer Learning Journey. I attempted the kick start actvity. I needed to create stick figures.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started drawing stick figures doing different activites. I tried to draw as much stick figure drawings as I can (14).
Lastly, I took a photo of my stick man drawings. I also labeled each picture so others know what each stick men are doing.
I really enjoyed doing this task since it was fun but I also found it challenging, because some of the pictures I drew didn't match their label.
Today I have completed week 3, task 20 for the Summer Learning Journey. I attempted the kick start actvity. I needed to create a summer haiku poem.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started thinking of syllables I can use in my haiku poem. I looked at some other haiku poems to help give ideas.
Lastly, I took a video of me reading my poem.
I enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the oppertunity to learn a new poem and how to write it.
Today I have completed week 3, task 19 for the Summer Learning Journey. I needed to find to my finger print.
Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.
Next, I started thinking of a way that I can find my finger print.
Lastly, once I figured out a way I recored how I did it using screencastify.
I enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the oppertunity to learn what type of finger pring I have. According to what my finger print looked like, I think it's a loop fingerprint.
