Giving things a go | Postive Relationships

Today we learnt about giving things a go and trying new things. In CARE, Confidance would step into this because you would need confidance to try new things.

For our energizer we played a game that makes you look kid of weird but the point was to support us to be more confident.

Our activity was about pusing ourself to have confidence in side of us and try new things and try all the task.

I really enjoyed this lesson because I was able to upgrade my cofidence and I got to learn new things from the activites.

Kiwi Can

Today was the last session for kiwi can. Since it's the last session we played four different games. Before we played the games we had to use the four them's this year. Those are integrity, resilience, positive relationship and respect. Here are two games we played today.

First game
The first game was hop potato but it had a twist. While we are passing the ball around we have to say,"Hop potato fast, hop potato slow, hop potato, hop potato, out you go!" If you are holding the ball and we finished saying that sentence you are out. If you do a bad past you are out and if you drop it and we are still saying the sentence you carry on.

Second game
The second game we played was musical cones. To play musical cones you have to canes in a line and you need to have the same amount of people of the side of the cones. Next you have to play some music and you have to dance and if you don't your out. Once the music stops you have to try and grab a cone, if you do you have to sit down with the cone on your head but if you don't your out. When you are dancing your not allowed to touch the cone if you do your out. Each round Mr Seamanu will take some cones away and the last person standing wins.

Kiwi Can

LI:To respect peoples differences

This week our them is respect and our topic is to respect others. Respecting others means respecting other peoples differences instead of being mean to them. This week our catchphrase is,"kiwi can say, I respect you, you respect me and that's the way it's suppose to be."

Energizer
This week our energizer was mirror mirror. To play this you have to get into two equal lines and once you get into a line you face the person that's next to you in the other line. Then the teacher will pick one line to be the mirror so if the teacher picks your line to be the mirror you have to copy everything your partner is doing. After a couple of minutes you guys will switch so the line that was controlling the line that was the mirror has to be the mirror. We had four rounds of this energizer.

Activity
To day our for our activity we had to get into a group of four or five and try and pass the ball quick and then shoot the ball into a hoop. When we shoot the ball in the hoop we can move were ever we want to shoot but after a couple of rounds when we shoot we had to shoot behind the yellow line. We had two rounds of this activity.

To play this game we had to find an partner and once we found our partner we had to sit down facing your partner and wait until everyone found a partner. When everyone found a partner we had to put our right hand flat in the middle and put your two fingers on your left on top of your partners hand. Then Mr Seamanu will tell us a word and when we hear it say it we have to grab your partners fingers before they escape and while you try and when you try and grab their fingers you have to escape before they grab your fingers. We had 5 rounds against your partner and then we had to play against the class.

Activity
Today our game for our activity was called pass it on. It was separated by boys and girls. The kiwi can leader had to squeeze one of us in the very back and we had to pass the squeeze all the way to the front and the front people and to try and get the cone it the chair, and the first team that gets the cone gets one point.

This week for kiwi can we have a new topic called dealing with challenges. Dealing with challenges means trying to complete hard challenges or stuff you can't do.

Activity
This week our activity was trying to complete a puzzle only using the shapes in groups of three, the hard part about this challenge is that we have to use all of the shapes and the shapes on the piece of paper. We had to try and make a cross or a plus sign. We had to look at the piece of paper before we write on the paper so we can see we can find any idea's of how to solve the puzzle, we had a time limit so we had to work fast. When we ran out of time our kiwi can teacher gave us a piece of paper of the answer.

Kiwi can|Reliance|Self-control|Self-discipline

LI:To copy with challenges and bouncing back

This week for kiwi can our theme was resilience and out topic was
self-control and self-discipline and our catch phrase for this week our catch phrase was, "Kiwi can says control yourself don't shout kiwi can over and out.

Activity
This week our activity was called four challenges, in this game each group had to try and complete their challenge in one minute because once we finish that challenge we have to move to the next one.

The first challenge my group had to do was try and match the colours in Maori and English. The challenging thing is that we had to try and think which colour in Maori matches with the colour in English and some of us didn't know the colours in Maori so we had to try and our best to get it right. We work this challenge out by singing a song which has all of the colours in English and Maori so it can make it easier for us to complete this challenge.

Our second challenge was that we had to try and write the alphabet backward on a piece of paper. the thing we found challenging was trying to write the whole alphabet without making any mistakes, the way we worked this out was by singing the alphabet forward so when get stuck we can sing the alphabet and then we can write down the letter down.

Our third challenge was making our own actions for our catchphrase this week. The thing we found challenging was trying not to copy the normal actions and the other groups one and trying to make our own actions by working with our group, we worked this out by thinking of actions that link with the words in the catchphrase.

Our last challenge was to do 5x push ups, 5x sit ups, 5x burpees and 5x squats. The thing we found challenging was trying to do all of those exercises in one whole minute, our way of working this out was trying to do this as fast as we can and to try and do it without mistakes because it wouldn't count.

Then our kiwi can teacher gave us a cone to put in the middle, then our kiwi can teacher explained to us what we had to do. He said if he says rats the people on the right side had to try and grab the cone but the rabbits had to try and grab the cone before their partners do. Then he said if he says rabbits then the left side had to try and grab it but the rats had to try and get the cone before their partner does. Who ever wins goes to the next round but on the last round who ever wins that round wins the game.

Activity
This week our activity was the same as last week but this time we got different people in our group and we had to act out something different. Our play was about four kids who were auguring about who is going to drop kick the ball a try and score a try for their team. We had to try and find a solution to this problem. We took a vote to see who is going to kick the ball.

Kiwi Can|Term 3|Resilience|Emotions

LI:Is to understand people emotions.

Today was our first kiwi can lesson for term 3. We had a new them for this term and a new topic for this week. Our theme was resilience and out topic was emotions. We also had a new catch phrase for this week, the catch phrase is "Kiwi can says if you feel it, let it out, don't doubt. Just let it all out.

Energizer & Activity
Our energizer and activity was kind of the same just it a little different, the game was called silent emotion disco. When we played this game for our energizer we played it differently when we did our activity.

To play the game that we played for our energizer you need to get into a group of 3 and your group ha to decided what emotion you want to act out but you can't talk. When you finish deciding what emotion and actions you group is going to do you have to perform you actions if front of other people and they have to try and figure out what is your emotion that they choose.

To play the game that we played for our activity you need to have head phones and a i pod. One person has to put the head phones on, plug the ear phone to the i pod and play some music. Then the other people have to decided what emotion they are going to act out. Once they decided the person listening to the music has to turn around and then the other people have to act out the emotion they choose, then the person with the ear phones on has to guess.

This is shown by doing:
1.Listen to the teacher
2.Don't talk to my friend when I'm working
3.Help people with their work

Our catchphrase was:
Kiwi can says, responsible is what I am,and that's the way of kiwi can.
