Email Etiquette

LI:To learn how to write etiquette emails

For this cybersmart task, I created a etiquette email to the manaiakalani team describing our school and class. I also needed to explain why PBS is the best school in the world. I needed to watch a video explaining the task. Once I completed my email I sent it to the manaiakalani team, who relpied back thanking for taking my time to complete this cybersmart task.

I enjoyed attempting this task because it showed ways I could wirte emails politely.

Recreating Famous Artworks

LI: To use Google Draw to recreate a famous artwork

LI: To use your knowledge of colour and colour mixing to replicate the colours used in artworks

This week we have been learning about famous artworks and colour mixing. The artwork I chose was the girl with pearl earring by Johannes Vermeer. This artwork was painted in 1665. It was painted because a 16 year maid was asked to clean the master studio, and met Johannes who talked to her and decided to paint her. Today it can be found in the Mauritshuis museum in The Hague.

I enjoyed this challenge because it gave me the oppertunity to practise my drawing skills.

Customised Shoes

Today my challenge was to customised air jordan shoes to show a design that would customised on plain, white jordan shoes. I was inspired to do this by a kiwi artist, Rangi-Haria Jaxon who customises sneakers to show his passion for snaekers and art. The design I decided to use to customise my air jordans was minnie mouse themed. I chose this design because I wanted my shoe to be themed something most people will know, and minnie mouse is a well-known theme.

I found designing air jordans fun because it gave me the oppertunity to show a design that I would use on plain, white air jordans.

Summary Customised Shoes

LI: To explain in fewer words what the text is about

The challenge we were set for today was to skim and scam an article about Rangi-Haira Jaxon and his passion for customizing shoes. Rangi-Haira Jaxon designs shoes and sneakers, and was inspired by Maori culture and a documentary called 'Just For Kicks'. Something I found interesting was that his sneakers are sold world-wide, including countries like Japan, the United States, Sweden and Australia. I enjoyed this task because I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge of Rangi-Haira Jaxon and his passion for customizing shoes.
