Recreating Famous Artworks

LI: To use Google Draw to recreate a famous artwork

LI: To use your knowledge of colour and colour mixing to replicate the colours used in artworks

This week we have been learning about famous artworks and colour mixing. The artwork I chose was the girl with pearl earring by Johannes Vermeer. This artwork was painted in 1665. It was painted because a 16 year maid was asked to clean the master studio, and met Johannes who talked to her and decided to paint her. Today it can be found in the Mauritshuis museum in The Hague.

I enjoyed this challenge because it gave me the oppertunity to practise my drawing skills.

  1. Hi Te Raumati
You have recreated the Girl with the pearl earring beautifully. You have shown your colour mixing skills and done an amazing job. It was interesting to read the Johannes Vermeer took an interest in his maid and decided to paint her.
    Great job
