Basic Facts

Today we had to make a goggle sheet and do subtraction.When you finished answering the question we had to cheek it if it's right.If it's not write you have to colour the box red and write wrong,if you get them right you have to colour it green and write good.After we did that we had to write a blog post about it.

Writing

The last session of Ki o Rahi


Today was the section of Ki o Rahi.Instead of learning anything about Ki o Rahi we
played the full game of Ki o Rahi the whole section.


We were playing all of the roles of Ki o Rahi.I was in the yellow team which was
the team who started off as team Ki oma and the red team started of as team taniwha.


There has to be 2 kaitiaki is pawero and there as to be a kicker.The kicker’s job is to try
and kick it to the kaitiaki so the kaitiaki can catch it.If the kaitiaki catches it they have
to throw it to their team and their team as to touch as many po’s as they want an run
into pawero and score some points for their team.If the kaitiaki doesn't catches it,it’s
an hand over.The taniwha has to try and throw the ke at the tupu.If they hit it then
they get a point.


If one of your tags get ripped you have to pass it to your other team mates.If both
of your tags get ripped it’s an hand over.You only have 30 minutes and then you
have to change teams.


The hardest bit of playing team Ki oma is when we touch the po’s we have to try
and get pass the taniwha team and score the try.The hardest bit of playing team
taniwha is when we had to try and throw the ke at the tupu while the kaitiaki is
guarding the tupu.
LS1 last exciting session of Ki o Rahi!
Today was the last exciting session of Ki o Rahi. We were
applying the knowledge that we know to play Ki o Rahi.  
When I was taniwha I have to be in Te Roto and Te Ao I
am not allowed to be in pawero,I’m only allowed if I want to
do a jump shot. When I was Kioma I have to be in Te Ao. I
have to touch the po with the ki and score a try in pawero. I am
not allowed to be in Te Roto,I’m only allowed when I’m going to
score a try in pawero. When one tag is off you pass it to your
team mate. If two tags are off it’s a hand over.

2 points for making the title more interesting

LI:I was learning how to write a recount with no mistakes.
Today I was learning how to write a recount with no mistakes.We had to write a recount about kiwi sport,kiwi can or music.We had to have a buddie so when were finish writing a recount our buddie can fix up any mistakes.The tool that I need was I google doc.

Personal hauora




LI:Is to put in as much things that we do that links with the 4 dimensions of hauora.
Today I learnt about personal hauora. Personal hauora is things that  you do that links with the 4 dimensions of hauora.

I learnt it by going making a copy of a google drawing and we had to put the things into the right side
of the google drawing.One the other one we had to make google drawing and write down stuff that I do
that links with the 4 dimensions of hauora.

The tool that we used to make this poster was a google drawing.

Music|Week 8

LI:Is to learn how to sing and play the ukulele at the same time.
Today for music 11 or 12 of us played ukulele.Only some of us were allowed to go outside.The people who doesn't know to play the ukulele.Once the people who don't know how to play the ukulele has to come outside.When we were out side we could sit in the shade,in front of the nurse building or the top field.Then someone came outside,so they can tell us that we had to tidy up.

Statistics

We were learning about statistics.Statistics is collecting data and analysing numbers from info gathered to answer questions.I learnt this info by making a survey.The question was where is the most popular place to sit and rest in the school.Then our teacher send a picture of our school so we can make zones.We made 10 zones.The tools we used were google form and a google drawing.

Wellington beaches smoke free.



LI:To unlock keywords to summarize a text,and to skim and scan to find key words.
Today for reading we were learning about the Wellington beaches being smoke free.We had to read about Wellington being smoke free,so we can find keywords about Wellington being smoke free.Once we find the key words we had to answer some questions on this google drawing.Then we had to find an image that say's no smoking or smoke free.

Kiwi Can|Week 8.

LI:We were learning about friendship and how to included other people.

Today for kiwi can we were learning about friendship and how to included other people.Our topic was friendship.Before we did our energizer we had to talk about what is friendship.

What is friendship
Friendship means including other's in games or other stuff your doing.

Energizer
Our energizer was called last man standing.To play this game we all had to walk around the class room.Then Mr H will call out one of our names and then that person that Mr H called out has to be the tagger.The tagger is only allowed to speed walk. Spelman and Leon won both of the rounds.

Activity
Our activity was called secret cards.To play this activity we had to get into 5 groups.When you get into your groups Mr H will give each group a card,and one of us need to read the card to card to their group.Once we read it to our group we had to decide if it goes on the bad side or the good side.The cards we got had to go on the bad side.

Learning about Square Root.


L.I to learn about square roots

This week for maths I researched about square roots and made a poster about it. The square root is the opposite of the second power.  2x2=  2

Positive body language|Kiwi Can|Week 4

L.I to have positive Body language.
This week in kiwi can we learned about positive Relationships and communication. A positive relationship means having good communication with someone and positive communication means sharing ideas and giving positive body language, for example, a handshake. 

Our energizer for kiwi can this week was fruit salad. So Mrs. Paige had to say a fruit like an apple that meant that we had to move our hips left. Pear meant to move your hips right, Banana meant to move your bottom forward and Watermelon means to move your bottom back. This was really fun but also awkward because when you got out you have to look at the people who are still in the game. We had two rounds of this. This Energizer was to test how well we listen. After the energizer, we talked about Positive body language. Positive body language this means having a positive attitude to a person.

These Activities were made to test our hearing and how we can be positive when we are doing something.
Our activity was Hand soccer. it is just soccer but using your hands. The rules were you could only use one hand at a time and that you couldn't use your legs or knees to kick or block the ball. We had to get into two groups and Mrs. Paige numbered each group from 1-10. it was really tiring and hard because I was versing a boy. This Activity was to see if you could be positive while playeing a game.

lastly, to finish off kiwi can we played GKQ which means General knowledge Questions. The Buzzer was to say your 'name'. 


Music|Week 4.

L.I to learn the basics of ukulele.
This week in Music we had learnt how to play ukulele with Whaea Odie. The chords that we had learned was C, G,Am and F. The songs that we had learned was One Call, Lazy song and Marry you. Once we played the songs again it started to get easier but the chord that was difficult  After this we had to pack all the ukuleles away because the lesson was over.I enjoyed this because I learnt new chords and the basics of the ukulele.

Subtraction.

Art

LI:Learning how to do art.

Today we were doing art. We were doing it upstairs in LS2. Miss Anderson was teaching us how to draw an apple and some of the LS2 kids helped us as well. She gave us a piece of paper with a picture of an apple on it.

 Miss Anderson told us to turn our paper around an trace the apple carefully.While we were tracing the apple Miss Anderson gave all of us a pink piece of paper.Once we were all finish tracing the apple we had to turn it over again so we can trance form it to the pink paper.

We had to put the white piece of paper on top of the pink paper.Then we had to trace it on the outside of the apple.We had to press hard so once we take the white piece of paper off,you will see the picture of the apple on the pink paper.If you can't see it that much you just gently trace it again

.When we finish tracing it we had to colour it in with pascals. We were only allowed to use the colour red,purple,orange,light green,dark green brown and yellow.When we finished we had to give it to Miss Anderson so she can show our teachers.



The 4 dimensions of Hauora.



LI:Is to learn about the dimensions of Hauora.
Today for inquiry we had to make a blog post about the 4 dimensions of hauora. The 4 dimensions are physical,social,emotions\mental and spurital. We had to choose a make picture that for things.We choosed a chair because it has 4 legs.If the chair only has 3 or less then the you will fall of the chair.I learnt the 4 dimensions of hauora by watching a video on youtube. We used a google side for our explanation of what is the 4 dimensions of hauora.

How to write a good blurb.

L.I to write a succinct blurb for a blog post.
Writing a blurb is Important because it is telling the audience what your blog post. What is needed in a blurb. What is needed in a blurb is how you learned, What you learned what you did and what you used to learn. I learned how to start a blurb and what I need in a blurb. LS1 learned by writing a blurb about Panmure Bridge CARE values as an example. We had to get into a group of three and get a chromebook to type down the blurb.

Today we had to go on someones blog and comment on it.Once you comment on it you have to make a blog post about it.

LI: To identify the different strategies we use as readers .

This week for reading Mr Ogilvies reading groups have been looking at all of the different reading strategies .But then we got into our reading groups and then we chose a reading strategy to do and we had to make a poster on what this strategy and and how we can use this Strategy . But at first we played a game of GKQ ( General Knowledge Question ) and whoever got the question right got to pick a reading strategy to do . The strategy's that my group chose were Activating Prior Knowledge and Self Monitoring . So basically how this order worked was some people in our group would all do the same people and the other people would all make the other poster together .

Music|Week 3

L.I:To learn notes and chords.
This week for music we learned about how play the xylophone,piano
and the chime bars.The first song we played was called one call away.
The letters we had to hit C,F,A,G.We had to in chords.When you do
the c you press c and e at the same time.The same for the other letters
skip one and play that one.

Then we played a another song it was called shotgun.
The letter we had to hit was was C,F,A,G.We have to
do the same thing we did for one call away.For this we
had to do chords as well.We had one go and we were perfect.

So we did it at the beginning and it was perfect.

Facts about the number 87.

LI:Learning facts about the number 87.
Today for math's we had to choose a number between the number 10-100.The number I choose was the number 87.Here is one fact about the number 87.The number 87 is the devils number.Here is 1 method about the number 87.3+30+4+50=87.

Today for inquiry we had to list 10 good things and ten bad things.The first idea we got for the good side.It was try your best.The first idea we got for the bad side is disrespecting your team.

L.I:To learn how to work as a team.

This week for kiwican we leaned about how to work as a
team.

Energiser/Activity/GKQ
These games we played helped us how to work as a team.
the first energiser we played was called combination.How to play
is that there is two teams.There is hulahoops. One person from other team
or you team has to go in one hulahoop. Of they stand in the wrong one there are
out one person in the other team has to go.Of they go in the right one they keep on going.
Every team were helping there team mates out and thinking which one is the right one.
The activity we played was called corn,chicken and a fox.It was a riddle.We had to think
how to get the corn,chicken and a fox to the other side.

Meaning co-operate
It means working together.

Kiwi Sport|Week 7.

LI:Is to play the proper game of Ki o Rahi.

Today was the last session of Ki o Rahi. Instead of learning we played the full game of Ki o Rahi,We all applied the things that we learnt the past few weeks.

I was in team yellow,yellow team is team ki oma.Today we all had to play the Ki Oma role taniwha role and kaitiaki role. The kicker has to start off,it has to kick it to the kaitiaki. If the kaitiaki catches it they have to pass it to there team mates.There team mates can touch as Po then run into to pawero and score the try.If 1 tag gets ripped you have to pass it.If both tags get ripped then it's an hand over.If the kaitiaki doesn't catch it's an hand over. Taniwha's job is to try and thro the ke at the tupu.

Making a simple sentence into a smart sentence.

LI:To learn how to make a simple sentence into a smart sentence. 
Today for writing we had to read a recount and pick a paragraph from sentence,then make it into a better sentence.We could add adverbs and verb if we want to.The words I added in is coloured in red so we know what word we added in the paragraph.

Today we had to do our SSR Selfie.We had to read the book for 15 minutes and then summerise it.

Looking for keywords and phrases.




LI:To look for keywords and phrases.
Today for reading we had to go on to Kiwi kids news so we can find some news that we can look for keywords or phrases.If we find a keyword or phrases we can highlight it green or yellow.Then we had to write what links with What,who,where,when,why and how.After that we had to write a summary about the news.The summary has to have some of the key word.It has to have 25 words or less. 

Prototec

LI:Is to get faster at answering the questions.
Today I had to play prototec  so I can get better at answering maths questions faster.I was on stage 4.My score is 1m 47s and I got 100% on my certificate.

Place value

LI:Is to learn about place value.
Today we are learning about place value.We had to make 1 example to show what we are suppose to do.After we make the example we had to write 6 simple numbers.They have to be a single digit number 2 digit number and a 3 digit number.Then we had to multiply it by 10,100 and 1000.

LI:Is to learn different kinds of punctuation and find out what they mean.
Today for writing we had to make a poster that tells us different punctuation.We also had to find out what they mean.I'll tell 3 things I have on my poster.Full stop,coma and speech marks.We use full stops at the end of a sentence.We use a coma to list our ideas.We use a speech mark to dialounge of direct speech.There are 4 more on the poster that you can read.

Male\Female

LI:Learn how to say different words that mean Male\Female.
Today for writing we had to write different words that mean M\F.We had to get into group of 4.We all had to put all our ideas on a google drawing.We wrote this so you can know if someone you don't know is a Male or a Female.

Music|Week 6

LI:How to play the ukulele and sing at the same time.

Today for music 4 people got to go on the keyboards.The rest of us got to play the ukulele but some of us had to play the xylophone.

Only the people who can play G,A,C and F.The people who can play those chords are allowed to play the ukulele.The people playing the ukulele had to get a paper with song written on it and go outside.

The song I was playing was shot gun.I only had to play 3 chords witch is C,G and A.I played that a couple of times then I stared playing F just to see if it sound right.

The first time I tried to sing and play at the same time.It was kind of hard but when I started playing it and sing I started to get the hang of it.Now I can play and sing at the same time.

Different kinds of abuse.

Today we are learning about different kinds of abuse.There are 7 different kinds of abuse.
  1. Cyber abuse
  2. Physical abuse
  3. Family violence
  4. Sexual abuse
  5. Emotional
  6. neglect
  7. Not abuse
Cyber abuse is when someone online shows you inappropriate photos.
Physical abuse is when someone punches you.
Family violence is when a family member hurts you.
Sexual abuse is when someone tells you to touch inappropriate body parts.
Emotional abuse is when someone hurts your feeling.
Neglect means know one cares about you.
Not abuse means you get punished.

LI:Is to know what types of touch we like,hurt and that are confusing.

Today for inquiry we have to make a google drawing and write safe and unsafe thing.We had 4 topics we can write personal strengths,Types of touch,Emotions and safe and unsafe situation.The topic I wanted to do was types of touch.There are 3 types of touches.Touches we like touches that hurt and touches that are confusing.For example a hug is a touch we like.Pulling hair is a type of touch that hurts and someone keeps on touching you is a confusing type of touch.

LI:Is to learn how to make a blog post. Today for cyber smart we had to learn how to make a blog post.We had to do it on a template.All blog post need a title,label,blurb and a LI.You write what you learnt how did you learnt it and what tools you used.Then you have to insert an DLO.

Kiwi Sport|Week 6.

LI:How to play Ki o Rahi proply.

Today for kiwi sport we played the full game of Ki o Rahi. Before we played we had to go over the rules for the people who don't know how to play.

Our coach had to put us into teams.The people who are in the red team is Ki oma and people who are in the yellow team is taniwha. I had to be in the yellow team witch is team taniwha.

The kicker has to kick the ball to the kaitiaki,and the kaitiaki as to catch it.If they drop it it's a hand over.If they catch it they have to throw the ke to their team mates.If team taniwha rip's one tag they have to pass it to their  to anther person in their team.If team taniwha rips 2 tags it's a hand over.Team taniwha job is to try and throw the ke at the tupu.If they hit the tupu they get a point.

Kiwi Can|Week 6.

LI:Is to learn how to be Co- operation.

Today for kiwi can we were learning how to be co-operation.Before we did anything else we had to share our understanding of what co-operation means.Co-operation can mean taking part or working as a team and other things.

Energizer
For our energizer we played opposite actions.This game our kiwi can teachers had to say an action.If she says put you hands up you have to put your hand down.If they say move to the right you have to move to the left.The game got harder.It was hard but fun.

Activity
Our activity was called command.We had to get into 4 teams.Once we got into our teams we all had to work together to follow the instructions.1 person went to get instructions from Miss Mac.Then the person for your team has to tell their team the instruction that Miss Mac told us.First team to finish gets a point.

Music|Week 5.

LI:Learning how to play the keyboard and the ukulele.
This week for music the year 5's did music.

We were learning how to play the notes on the ukulele.The notes we were learning was C,A,G and F.
The hardest chord to play was G because it was uncomfortable and it was sore.

The next thing we did was sing a song and play the ukulele at the same time.It was kind of easy and hard.The hardest part is when you had to switch notes but it was really fun.

After we played the ukulele 6 people were allowed to play the keyboard but the people who had all ready played the keyboards is not allowed to play it again.I was chosen to play on the keyboard along with the other 5 people.

When I stated playing the keyboard it was a little tricky to sing the song and play the keyboard at the same time.When I started playing the keyboard I started getting the hang of it.Then I started sing and playing the keyboard.Now I can play the keyboard and sing at the same time.




How to keep safe

LI:Is how to keep safe.
This week we learned how to be safe.

Personal Strengths
Personal Strengths are things you are good at and you like to do.

1.I'm good at drawing
2.I like climbing trees

Emotions and safe activities
Emotions can make people do dangerous things.Playing with my friend makes me feel happy.There are a lot of things that can make people angry.I can get angry if someone is bullying me.The safes thing for me to do is to go some where quite or tell a friend how I feel.

Types of Touch
There types of touch's.It can hurt,make you happy,angry and embarrass.If girl me hair in front of her friends,It will hurt and I will feel embarrass as well.The safes thing to do is to tell her to stop it or go and tell an teacher or a parent.

Safe situations
There are 2 situations you can get into.A safe situation or a unsafe situation.For example if someone ask you  if you want to fight you shouldn't say yes because you'll might get hurt or you'll get in trouble.If they keep on follow you and keep on calling you names if you hit them he might hit you harder or tell the teacher,so the safes thing to is to walk away or tell them to stop.
