This week I commented on Diana's blog post about her time doing swimming lessons. I asked her to do one thing, that thing was to put a little more information into her blurb but everything else she did incredible. Great job Diana.

Addition up to 10

LI:To remember my basic facts.

This week I took the speed demon challenge. I went up to 10. My time was 2 minutes and 36 seconds, next time I do my basic facts I will try and improve my time. If you don't believe what I did I took a screenshot of all of the proof you need.

My topic: School playtimes

My argument: Playtimes at school should be longer

Audience:

How will you greet your audience? Hello. Today I will be taking about why school playtimes should be longer.

How will you introduce your topic in a catchy way? I think every school should have a longer playtime.

Write a rhetorical question to make the audience think about your topic: When was the last time you had a long playtime at school

What is your opinion? Write a statement that clearly states your point of view: Playtimes feel like your just having a short break and your brain is struggling to learn new stuff but if school playtimes are longer it fells like your brain is ready to learn some more.

List some facts or statistics that support your opinion: School playtimes should be longer because: 1.We need a longer break because of all the hard work we do in class 2.It’s healthy to exercise

Do you have a solution to the problem? Students should ask the principal to make school playtimes longer.

Say your opinion again and warn the audience what will happen if they don’t agree with your opinion.

LI:To create a persuasive speech

This week we are doing persuasive speech.We had to complete this

google doc called Persuasive Speech.My topic for persuasive speech

is Sports.My argument for persuasive speech is sport promotes healthy

lifestyle.We had to list some facts,how will you greet,write your a personal

statement that's talking about your topic,how will you introduce your topic

in a catch way and a rhetorical question.Rhetorical question means you don't answer

the question you just think.

We had to list some facts about our topic.Here's one example.Sports help you

with your fitness level.We had to make sure it was a fact and not opinion. We had

to research some facts about our topic.After this we are going to write our speech

and present it out.Also we are going to get judged by a real judge.Also there are going to

be two people going to present in assembly. We also have to persuade in our speech.

Ihumatao

This week we are learning about Ihumatao. Ihumatao is a road near the Auckland airport and the government decided to build 400 houses there. The Maori people is trying to persuade the government to not build the houses there because the first Maori people landed there. We had to figure out the meanings of 5 Maori words that links to what were doing next. Next we had to figure out how does the words that we had to figure out the meaning of have a relationship to the land. 

Fractions of set(WIP)

LI:To earn and look after money by creating with math.

This week we are learning about fractions of set. Everyone in my group except for one person is making a game about fractions of set. We decided to write down five questions and do a tutorial for each question for people that don't know or don't understand. We want to do a tutorial because if we do one we get a tutorial bonus which means we get some extra money. This work is due by next Thursday so we had to get it finished as soon as possible.

Swimming

LI:To learn water safety skills.

This week for swimming we were learning about what to do when your in deep water and you need help. Me and Leitu had to give an example to the other kids in our group. We had to hop up and down all the way to the plat form. When we jump up we have to take a big breath in, when we go down into the water we have to blow bubbles from our nose and mouths. The last thing we did was to do any swimming stroke down to the end of the pool but we were not allowed to touch the bottom of the pool.
