  1. Kia ora Te Raumati,

My name is Rachel and I am working with the Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) team this year. This is my fourth year with the SLJ and I absolutely love it because I have the chance to learn amazing new things from students all around New Zealand. In this case, I have now learned how to make french toast. It sounds delicious!

I have often made pancakes for my family but never tried this particular recipe before. Do you and your family make french toast very often? I am definitely going to try it with my family over the holiday. Aronui (my son) loves waffles and pancakes so I suspect that he would also love french toast. We might even try it with maple syrup instead of golden syrup as I am originally from Canada and grew up on maple syrup. It is a Canadian tradition to eat things with maple syrup. Have you ever tried pure Canadian maple syrup? It is a little bit sweeter than golden syrup but, oh, so delicious!

I hope that you are having a lovely holiday with your family. I'll look forward to reading more of your awesome posts and to sharing our learning together over the break.

    Bye for now!

    Rachel :)

  3. Hi Te Raumati!,

It's Mele from Panmure Bridge School. Well done for completing this task. I am glad to see you posting these SLJ activities during these summer holidays. Did you enjoy doing this task? Why? That sure looks and sounds yum. The ingredients sounds yum too. I'd love to try this out. If you were to make this with someone from the SLJ team, who would it be and why?

    NICE:)
