Towering Timbers

I think logging shouldn't be allowed in NZ because it wrecks animals homes and kills the trees. It's not good for mother nature and it doesn't look nice.

  1. Hey there Te Raumati, my name is Billy and I am from the Summer Learning Journey team.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on logging in New Zealand and whether or not it should be allowed. It's important to consider the situation from the perspective of the animals whose homes we are destroying. I don't think I'd enjoy someone randomly knocking down my home.

What do you think people could use instead of wood to build homes and furniture?

Do you think it would be a good idea if the people who were cutting down trees were also planting trees? Would that work?

    Thanks, Billy.

  2. Hi Te Raumati!
I like your blog post about Not having logging in New Zealand. I agree with you that it destroys animals homes. Its hard to see that a lot of animals dies from their homes getting cut up.
    Blog you later!

  3. Hi Te Raumati!,

It's Mele from Panmure Bridge School. Well done for completing this task. I am glad to see you posting these SLJ activities during these summer holidays. Did you enjoy doing this task? Why? I agree with your statements 100%, because our animals will need to find homes, since most of them like our native birds live in nests. What does AJ think about logging? Why?

    NICE:)
