Summer Learning Journey | Vector Art: Step It Up

Today I have completed week 1, task 5 for the Summer Learning Journey. I've decided to attempt the step it up task. For this task I needed to draw my hero (someone who inspires me) and one of their quotes.

The person I chose was 'Portia Woodman' because she inspired me to play rugby since she playes for the Black Ferns. The quote I chose was "The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow." Lastly, I created a DLO showcasing who I look up to.

If wanting to create your own vector art, here are three tips: Try draw a simple picture on your first try, start out right, and put in as much detail as you can.

I enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the oppertunity to share who inspired me.

It’s Charlotte here, a blog commenter for Manaiakalani. Great job completing the Vector Art activity, you have created some amazing artwork!

I noticed that you included some tips to help your blog readers create their own vector art creations, what was your favourite part about creating your vector art piece and what did you find the hardest?

I agree, the quote you included from Portia Woodman is very inspiring! How long have you been playing rugby for?

    1. Kia Ora Charlotte,

Thank you for commenting on my blog. My favourite part about creating my vector art is tracing the jersey. The hardest part of this task for me was trying to draw the face. I have been playing rugby for about 5 or 6 years. Would like to play rugby and why?

Thank you again for commenting! :)

  2. Kia ora Te Raumati,

My name is Fiona and I am a Manaiakalani facilitator based in Taranaki. It is great to see that you are getting involved in the summer learning journey and having a go at the step it up version of this task!

I think you have done a fabulous job of your vector art. I really enjoyed hearing about why you chose Portia Woodman as your hero. Your vector art tip about starting out with a simple picture for your first attempt was a good one. Have you done much vector art like this before?

Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more great quality posts from you during the summer learning journey.
