Summer Learning Journey | One Point Perspective

Today I have completed week 3, task 22 for the Summer Learning Journey. I decided to attempt the step it up activity. I needed to create a one point perspective art work.

Before I started, I watched a video explaining the task so I know what I'm doing.

Next, I started drawing my one point perspective artwork. I also coloured it in. I decided to colour it in dark from the bottom, and then start going light as I go to the top.

Lastly, I took a photo of my finished artwork.

I really enjoyed doing this task because it gave me the opportunity to learn what a one point perspective artwork is and how to draw one.

  1. Kia ora Raumati,

This is Ruby, a volunteer commenter from SLJ. Happy new year to you!

What a beautiful piece of art you have created. I love that you're exploring one point perspective and the fact that you shaded it darker in the center gives it real depth. I really like your use of the different shapes. It's clever and looks like something out of a science fiction novel!

What kind of art work are you planning to do next? What would you do differently with this art work?

    Keep up the great work.

    1. Kia Ora Ruby,

Thank you for commenting on my blog and Happy new year! I'm not sure what artwork I'm doing next but I want to try one I haven't done before. Something I would do differently is probably adding adding more shape to my artwork.

If you had to attempt this activity, would you do the kick start or step it up activity and why?

Thank you again for commenting! :)

  2. Kia Ora Te Raumati,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the summer learning journey.

I think your artwork looks great and adding that gradient effect with dark at the bottom and light at the top really adds to the 3D effect.

What did you enjoy about this activity and what did you find challenging?

Keep up the good work and I hope to see more of your posts during the Summer Learning Journey!!

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates

    2. Hi Te Raumati,

I think my favourite part of your art is the fact that you drew it all yourself. What is your favourite part?
